Personal Statement

Who am I? My name is Douglas Sanchez, I am a hardworking Foshay tech student who has a disability where I struggle at times. I don't know how it hit me but all I know is that I've been living with this disability since elementary school. When I started middle school, my parents told me why I started to struggle in school, and I found out that I had autism. In elementary school, it was very hard to handle it because I was very little and I didn't understand it until I started middle school. But even though I have autism, it doesn't stop me from anything because I still do my best in school.

An event that I will be describing about is my first big allowance from my parents which was a  $100 bill. That event is important to me because every time I get an allowance, I always get $20 twice a month, but when it comes to my birthday or Christmas, it is a big gift. What I learned about myself getting a big allowance is that by doing homework, getting good grades, and not missing school days will surprise my parents. Lessons I learned about life in general is that if you keep overcoming obstacles,it will surprise your parents and you will receive a huge award. I was able to change in this event by passing all my classes and playing less video games when I know I have homework. I sometimes play video games for an hour or less, and then I do my homework.
